Where to go (places to visit) 🚀
Where to go (places to visit) 🚀
Chiman Lake 🌀
This lagoon has the shape of a fish, and its “eye” is a small round island. In the past, locals used to visit it to relax and fish. If you go fishing here, you will feel the calm of nature. You must bring your fishing gear, but you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy it.
El Margarital Lake. 🌊
You can ride a horse up the mountain to reach this natural lake. When I visited, I saw a spectacular view of the town and its mountains. If you climb up, you will get one of the best panoramas in Silvia. You must not forget to take water with you, because the trail can be demanding.
Belen Church. ⛪
This church offers a panoramic view of Silvia.
In the past, people used to walk up the stony path, but now there is also
access for vehicles. If you walk up, you will enjoy the scenery step by step.
Visitors must respect the sacred space, but they don’t have to pay to enter.
Principal Park. 🏪
Here you find the heart of Guambiana culture. You must talk to artisans who sell handmade wool bags, “mostacilla” bracelets, and earrings. If you try out local food like natural cheese, pandebono, or hot panela, you feel the warmth of Silvia. You would like to taste trout, a typical dish of the region.
El Placer Farm ☕
This farm shows the coffee process of the
region. In the past, families used to grow coffee only for local use, but now
it is shared with visitors. You must learn how coffee is harvested and roasted
because it is part of Silvia’s identity.
Old Carmen Mill. ⛾
Founded in 1915, this mill processed wheat harvested in the region. If you visit it today, you will discover a piece of history that shaped Silvia’s economy. You must admire its architecture, but you must not damage the old structure.
